Brooks-PRI launches molecular biological workstation

Jan. 16, 2003 — Brooks-PRI Automation Inc. said it has launched a fully automated molecular biological workstation for biotech research applications.

The Parallab workstation uses a patent pending technology called Nano-Pipettor, which processes 96 reactions and uses nanoliters of reagents per reactions. The system can be decontaminated and sterilized for reuse, which eliminates costs of single-use disposable parts in conventional platforms, according to a company news release.

The system was developed by Brooks-PRI’s Life Sciences Division, which provides manufacturing tools and technologies for pharmaceutical, biotech, agrochemical and clinical laboratories.
