Aclara signs deal with P&G

Jan. 27, 2003 — Aclara Biosciences said it will provide products and services to Procter & Gamble for a gene and protein analysis study to boost development of biopharmaceuticals, according to a news release.

Under the deal, P&G Pharmaceuticals will gain access to Aclara’s microfluidic-based eTag Assay System to study the biology of target cells, which are believed to be a desirable place for drug interaction. Aclara said its system enables accurate analysis of genes and proteins from limited biological samples, and can be used with researchers’ existing equipment.
