Oct. 3, 2002 — VizX Labs LLC, a Seattle software developer, announced the introduction of its GeneSifter.Net software system for microarray analysis.
With the system, scientists can load data from microarray image files, scanners or sensors into a database that resides on a server. The information can then be accessed and analyzed using standard Web browsers, which makes possible remote collaboration between scientists that are separated geographically. Pricing will vary based on customer’s needs.
The company also announced a three-year distribution agreement with Marubun Corp. of Tokyo to distribute the software in Japan. A company spokeswoman said VizX will announce the close of a $1.1 million round of seed financing next week.
