Amersham Bio launches biochip array tool

Sept. 3, 2002 — Amersham Biosciences said it has launched a slide processor that fully automates the hybridization step of microarray applications.

The Lucidea SlidePro Hybridizer is designed to minimize manual handling, simplify microarray experiments and improve the reliability and repeatability of results, according to a news release. The system includes one to five modules, each containing six hybridization chambers, and offers users the ability to process up to 30 slides at a time.

Amersham Biosciences is the life sciences business of Amersham PLC, a London-based supplier of biotech research and medical diagnostic products.
