September 26, 2007 — Piezosystem jena, manufacturer of high-precision piezoelectrical positioning systems, has developed a new compact piezo amplifier with an integrated measurement system for low-voltage piezo actuators. Targeted to OEM customers, the 12V40 CLE single-channel unit features 40mA output power for applications with stringent requirements for position resolutions with medium system dynamics. Extremely low residual noise makes it particularly suitable for sub-nm positioning.
Only a 12 Volt (optional 24V) DC power supply is required. The external measurement system and the electronic PID-controller eliminates drift or hysteresis within any connected nano positioning system.
A modulation input, a monitoring output, and a driving signal can be tapped off from the front plate connectors or from the rear wiring. This versatility allows for easy integration of the amplifier into different OEM systems or laboratory assemblies.
Applications include process automation and the driving of single channel piezo actuators such as microscope lens adjustment systems.
