BioDiscovery releases new microarray analysis tool

February 5, 2008 — BioDiscovery Inc., which develops software for microarray based research, has released ImaGene 8.0 for microarray image analysis.

New features include improved auto-gridding, faster processing for highly dense arrays, and support for multi-sample arrays, the company announced.

ImaGene 8.0 has an improved auto-segmentation algorithm that removes speckle noise, an improved auto-grid placement algorithm performing robust grid placement on even very dense and complex arrays, and improved quantification time for the largest arrays, the company said. The software supports multi-sample array images such as 4x44K arrays and generates separate output files for each field in the image to allow easier downstream analysis of individual samples.
