James Healy, president of ASAT Inc. (Fremont, Calif.), has received the second annual Bob Graham Award presented by Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI). The award cites Healy for his outstanding contributions to customers in the field of semiconductor equipment and materials marketing.

Ultrasonic Systems Inc. (Amesbury, Mass.) has appointed Christopher J. Kelleher as regional sales manager. Kelleher is responsible for domestic sales of USI's spray fluxing systems.

Lauri H. Larson has joined Aegis Analytical Corp. (Lafayette, Colo.) as its chief financial officer. Larson will be responsible for strategic planning and development, investor relations, finance, accounting, human resources, and facilities.

ST Assembly Test Services (STATS), headquartered in Singapore, has named KY Chan as executive vice president of operations. Chan will have overall responsibilities for all of STATS' manufacturing operations.

Kermit Aguayo has joined Process Sciences Inc. as senior consultant. Aguayo has considerable experience and expertise in BGAs, SMT and TH processes, as well as root cause failure analysis.

The board of directors at Cryopak Industries Inc. (Delta, British Columbia, Canada) have announced the retirement of Harry Bygdnes from active service with the company; Bygdnes has accepted the appointment as chairman of the board. John F. Morgan has been appointed president and chief executive officer.

Additionally, Douglas R. Reid has been named chief financial officer.

Electronic Controls Design (Milwaukie, Ore.) has changed its name and identity to MEC Northwest. These changes are a result of the recent acquisition of Electronic Controls Design by Milwaukee Electronics, a Wisconsin-based company. MEC Northwest is a manufacturer of electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies, and offers a full range of services, including design engineering, prototypes, layout, component selection, surface mount and through-hole assembly, in-circuit testing, and final assembly.

Vantico Group SA (Luxembourg), a new company that resulted from a management buy-out of the former Performance Polymers Division of Ciba Specialty Chemicals, has reported that its application to register its 12% Senior Notes due 2010 with the Securities and Exchange Commission (U.S.) was effective on February 9, 2001. Vantico has begun the formal exchange process, after which it will become a non-U.S. registrant.

BMI Inc. (Palatine, Ill.) has been awarded the 2000 SOUL ("service on unbelievable levels") Award from the Chicago-based International Customer Service Association (ICSA). Ken Krajchovich, BMI's customer service manager, was pivotal to this honor based on his response to a customer emergency.

Anvik Corp. (Hawthorne, N.Y.) has appointed Matsubo Co. (Tokyo) and Microsys Engineering Co. (Tao Yuan City, Taiwan) as its representatives in the Pacific Rim. These representatives will sell, support and service Anvik's Laser Projection Imaging systems for lithography, via generation and materials processing.

Stanley Electric's LED and SML factory in Tsuruoka, Japan, has earned the Q-1 Award from Ford Motor Company. The award secures preferred position status for Stanley in Ford's supply chain.
