01/01/2002

ARLINGTON, VA. - JEDEC has recently approved a definition for lead-free solid state devices, which is "a solid state device that contains no more than 0.2 % by weight of elemental lead (Pb)." This definition was approved at a recent meeting of the JC-14 Committee on Quality and Reliability of Solid State Products. JEDEC is the leading developer of standards for the solid-state industry, and is a sector of the Electronics Industries Alliance, a trade association that represents manufacturers in all areas of electronics.
