Filtration society focus shifts to users

10/01/2004

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.—Having previously served a broad base of the filtration and fluid-particle separation market, the American Filtration and Separations Society (AFS) has decided its focus should now be on specifiers, buyers and users of filters and filtration equipment.

AFS Chairman Ed Gregor explains, "In the past, we have served all parties in the industry, from the educator to the supplier of component parts and filter products, but have failed to serve the most important person who makes the decisive buying decision and ultimately pays the bill."

The society's executive committee and board of directors voted for the change of direction following numerous requests from its membership and others in the filtration industry. AFS is the principal developer of filtration and separation educational conferences in North America, and the largest filtration society in the world.
