05/01/2004

John Haystead, most recently chief editor of Pharm Tech magazine, an Advanstar publication, has been named new chief editor for CleanRooms.

With more than 25 years of experience in writing and managing editorial for publications focusing on the pharmaceutical, electronics/military electronics, communications, and contamination-control industries, Haystead has previously served as a contributing editor to CleanRooms. His expertise also includes conference development and keynote speaking at industry events.

"The field of contamination control and the industries [CleanRooms] services are full of exciting developments every day, and are so germane to the worldwide economy," says Haystead. "I'm looking forward to moving full steam ahead in my new position and to meeting readers and advertisers alike."

According to James Enos, VP and CleanRooms Group publishing director, "This new charge will help us deliver enhanced, high-level coverage of critical pharmaceutical issues and maintain the excellence of our coverage of the contamination-control industry as a whole. John is an outstanding leader; we're extremely pleased to have him on board."

Adam Japko, PennWell ATD's president and COO, adds: "The addition of John Haystead to the CleanRooms Group represents a tremendous strategic gain. He brings an expansive wealth of experience and contacts to our group of magazines and events."

In addition to the magazine, Haystead will work closely with the CleanRooms Group's other products and services: the magazine's Web site (www.cleanrooms.com; updated daily), the annual Master Source Guide, a bi-monthly e-newsletter, and six conferences and exhibitions—CleanRooms East and West, Asia, China, Europe, and Puerto Rico.

Haystead assumes chief editor duties later this month, effective with the July issue of CleanRooms.
