Some recent pro­jects include: SIRTeX Medical, where SMRT designed renovations for the relocation of a medical device manufacturing company, including new space to support manufacturing, shipping, receiving, quarantine, production, testing, quality control and distribution; Fairchild Semiconductor, with whom SMRT has worked for more than 15 years, having completed such projects as a central chiller plant of 6,400 tons, semiconductor manufacturing and cleanroom space, and tool hook-up design; UMASS Lowell Olney Hall, where SMRT completed the design of renovations to the fifth floor of the Olney Building associated with the construction of a new nanomanufacturing lab, bioprocess lab, and gowning room; Eastern Maine Medical Center Pharmacy, where SMRT designed cleanroom renovations to enable the hospital to meet USP 797 guidelines for compounding sterile preparations; Dartmouth Regional Technical Center, where SMRT and U.K. architects developed a 34,000-square-foot incubator facility, including laboratories and support offices, for early-stage technology companies to locate in the region; and University of Maine Engineering and Science Research Building, where SMRT provided building commissioning services for the 51,800-square-foot addition to Barrows Hall, including design review, construction oversight, verification of pre-start-up and functional performance of systems. Pharma, biomed facility planning and design
