Pharmaceutical compound development

Development of new compounds for pharmaceutical applications can be divided into four segments. The first is discovery of the molecule, which in today's world takes place more by computer modeling than by the scientist working on the laboratory bench.

Cleanroom Standards

Cleanroom standards: Moving right along

The past few months have been a very productive time in the creation of the new Global Cleanroom Standards by the ISO Technical Committee (ISO/TC209) "Cleanrooms and associated controlled environments."

HEPA filters keep the dirt out

Air filtration supplies the means to obtain the level of particle cleanliness required by a particular cleanroom application. It extends from the simple task of preventing lint and other debris from plugging heating/cooling coils to removing very small particles that could cause a short circuit on a microchip.
