Driver IC shortage to hurt Taiwan?

04/01/2000  TAIPEI - Prices of thin-film transistor liquid-crystal displays (TFT-LCDs) have been rising since the third quarter of 1999 due to a severe shortage, according to Nikkei Business reports. The price increases have prompted TFT-LCD makers in Japan, Korea and Taiwan to expand operations, which in turn has resulted in a paucity of key components. The shortage of driver integrated circuits (ICs) will affect Taiwan manufacturers` expansion plans in 2000, according to market analysts.

Membrane dryers

03/01/1999  Variodry membrane dryers are suitable for compressed air system applications. They are installed in-line and require no electrical connections. Air flows through a bundle of hollow fibers with semi-permeable membranes contained within the dryer. Moisture then diffuses across the membrane and is carried away by a portion of air flow that is swept back across the outside of the fiber bundle. According to the manufacturer, pressure dewpoints ranging from 0 to 35 degrees Celsius PDP at moderate flow
