A new look for Solid State Technology

We are launching new designs for Solid State Technology's magazine and website! Starting with this October issue, you'll see a whole new look to Solid State Technology's print and digital issues. We've not only made it easier to read ??? particularly the digitally-delivered issues ??? but we've added new, regular columns on LEDs manufacturing, MEMS, packaging and displays. Our primary focus will continue to be on mainstream semiconductor logic and memory manufacturing, but we'll be covering these high-interest, high-growth technologies with dedicated columns by industry experts (see pages 9 and 10).

Why the change? Covering emerging and high growth markets is nothing new for SST. During the last 53 years, the magazine has published in-depth reports on everything from hard disk drives to superconductors to thin film batteries. What's new is the dramatic growth we're now seeing in markets such as LEDs, MEMs and displays. Along with this growth, comes a new demand for innovative design, new process and packaging technologies, new opportunities for equipment and materials suppliers, and of course new demands for information.

To coincide with the fresh look to the magazine, we will also be rolling out a new look to our ElectroIQ.com website (a portal site serving Solid State Technology and sister publication, Photovoltaics World). In addition to our existing channels on semiconductors, packaging and MEMs, you'll find new channels on LEDs manufacturing and displays. Each channel will feature a daily news feeds from Lexis Nexis, as well as regular news updates and features from our editors and contributors. Topic centers within each channel will help you find related material of interest.

We've also reorganized how we display various kinds of content, to allow you to easily find whitepapers, webcasts, blogs, podcasts, video interviews, wire feeds and our on-line buyer's guide, the ElectroIQ E-source.

Also in the near future, stay tuned for the launch of new e-newsletters that are directly tied into the new content. As always, let me know what you think!
