Ion Systems, Berkeley, CA, has promoted Gregory Park to chief information officer. Park, a four-year veteran of the company, was previously director of information technology.

ETEC Inc., West Peabody, MA, has recently appointed three executives. Thomas A. Cellucci, was named president and CEO. He was most recently president of the consulting firm Cellucci Associates Inc. Arthur J. Holzknecht was appointed VP, sales and marketing. Prior to joining ETEC, he was director of marketing and business development at Anorad Corp. Robert M. Edmund has been appointed to the board of directors. He is the CEO and chairman of Edmund Scientific Corp. Scott Jordan has also been appointed to the board. He is director of nanopositioning technology at Polytec/Physik Instrumente.

Philips Components, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, a division of Royal Philips Electronics, has named Matt Medeiros president and CEO of its components division. Medeiros joined the company in 1998 as CEO of Philips Flat Display Systems. He replaces Gerard Kleisterlee.

Advanced Materials, Woburn, MA, has added Lee Burns to its staff as commercial development manager. He was most recently engineering manager for a start-up capital equipment company.

Burns will report to Gail Dewey, who has been appointed director of global sales and marketing. Dewey was formerly business manager. Fernando Ballesteros was named business director. He was formerly country manager for Rohm and Haas Columbia.

The founder of ESEC Management SA, Karl Nicklaus, has stepped down as chairman of the board. Willy Kissling, CEO of Unaxis Holding AG, will take Nicklaus' place. ESEC has also elected five new members to the board of directors: Paul Otth, CFO of Unaxis Holding AG; Heinz Kundert, COO of Unaxis Holding AG; Peter Baumgartner, GM of Philips Semiconductors; and Jürgen Knorr, chairman of Medea.

The Semiconductor Products Sector of Motorola, Austin, TX, has named Hans Wildenberg, VP and director of the Order Fulfillment Organization (OFO). He was VP and director of global sales.

Janelle Harris has been promoted to Wildenberg's former position as VP and director of global sales. She was VP and director of OFO service and logistics.

Michael R. Gaulke has joined the board of directors of Cymer Inc., San Diego, CA. He is president and CEO of Exponent Inc., a consulting firm.

Stephen M. Fromnick has been appointed CEO of Primaxx Inc., Allentown, PA. Prior to joining the company, he was president of Eagles' View Associates, a consulting firm.

SEZ America, Phoenix, AZ, has promoted Jim Mello to VP of operations. He has been with the company since 1996, serving most recently as director of sales and technical support.

TriMEGA Electronics LLC, Santa Clara, CA, has elected two new members to its board of directors. Frank R. Firsching is executive VP of Vivendi Water/USFilter's Process Water Group. Kurt P. Gilson is president of Kinetics' construction business.

Eastman Kodak Co., Rochester, NY, has appointed Les Polgar president and GM of its new flat panel display business unit based in Walnut Creek, CA. Polgar joins Kodak from Etec Systems Inc., where he was VP and GM of the company's Semiconductor Products Group.

Gasonics International Corp., San Jose, CA, has named Lawrence A. Wise VP of engineering. Prior to joining Gasonics, Wise was managing director of automation and factory integration engineering for Lam Research Corp. Jim Su has been appointed director of process technology. Su previously held a number of positions at GPT, including GM of the Gamma 2100.

Microsemi Corp., Santa Ana, CA, has appointed two VPs. Manuel Lynch has been promoted to VP of marketing and business development. He has been with the company since 1995 in a variety of positions, including marketing communications manager, director of information systems, director of North American sales, and business development manager. John Holtrust has been named VP of human resources. He comes to Microsemi with experience in human resources at such companies as GE Aircraft, Intersil/Harris Semiconductor, Silicon Systems, and InternetConnect Inc.

Thomas M. Voll has been appointed president of sales and marketing at Dover Instrument Corp., Westborough, MA. Before joining the company, Voll was a strategic business unit director for photochemical products at Millipore Corp.

n&k Technology, San Jose, CA, has appointed Walter Czeropski director of sales. He joins n&k from the Aera Corp., where he worked for more than six years as US and international sales manager.

SOITEC, Bernin, France, has named Michael F. Danylchuk Western region sales manager. Before joining SOITEC, he held numerous positions in marketing, sales, and engineering in the semiconductor and microwave industries.

EKC Technology Inc., Hayward, CA, has promoted Wai Mun Lee to VP of new business and technology development. In addition, in recognition of his contributions to EKC's business, Lee has been named first EKC Fellow.

BOC Edwards, Wilmington, MA, has appointed Nigel Hunton head of its European customer service division, with responsibility for both semiconductor and general vacuum business. Hunton has been with BOC Edwards since 1985, and has held several key management positions, including, most recently, president of the Chemical Management Division.
