Blankenhorn has more than 23 years of sales and marketing experience in high technology and semiconductor organizations, most recently as a cofounder of the Stanford Venture Group LLC.

TTI Silicon, Sunnyvale, CA, has promoted Robert P. Swor to president of the company. Swor has worked in the semiconductor business for more than 40 years, and was executive VP before his promotion.

John C. Ely has been named president of the Surface Conditioning Division at FSI International Inc., Minneapolis, MN. Ely has served FSI International since 1985, most recently as sales/marketing/applications manager for the division.

Murray Goldman, (right) chairman of Transmeta Corp., has joined the board of directors of Interactive Silicon Inc., Austin, TX. Goldman retired from Motorola in 1997 as executive VP and assistant general manager of the Semiconductor Products Sector.
Lam Research Corp., Fremont, CA, has appointed Thierry Fried as VP of regional operations in Europe. Fried has 18 years of semiconductor equipment experience.
