onQ Technology, Austin, TX, has named Dick Neely VP of operations. Neely was formerly director of ASIC assembly and test operations at Atmel, where he had worked since 1989.

Lam Research Corp., Fremont, CA, has named Kazuo Nojiri CTO of Lam Research Japan Co. Ltd. Nojiri, a 25-year veteran of the semiconductor industry, held numerous management positions at Hitachi Ltd. before joining Lam.

Legacy Systems Inc., Fremont, CA, has appointed Sanford L. Kane chairman of the board and CEO. Kane was most recently VP of industry operations in the semiconductor sector at IBM. Robert Matthews, founder of Legacy, will assume the role of president and CTO. In addition, Dan Reddy, chairman, president, and CEO of Alliance Semiconductor, has joined the company's board of directors.

SiGe Microsystems, Ottawa, Canada, has named Jim Derbyshire CEO. He was formerly CEO of Symbionics.

Wilhelm Sittenthaler has been appointed to the managing board of Wacker-Chemie GmbH, Munich, Germany. Sittenthaler joined Wacker as lab R&D head in 1980, and was most recently global head of the fluids, resins, and silanes business unit. Klaus von Lindeiner-Wildau, a member of the managing board since 1989, will be retiring.

Jon Rossi has been appointed president of Moore Technologies, San Jose, CA. He was formerly with MEMC as VP of technology.

Microsemi Corp., Santa Ana, CA, has named H.K. Desai to its board of directors. He is chairman of the board, president, and CEO of QLogic Corp.

Triant Technologies Inc., Nanaimo, Canada, has appointed Robert Heath to its board of directors. He is GM of the Imaging Division at Infowave Software Inc. Also, Peter M. Hauser has been named VP of new business development and strategic alliances. Prior to joining Triant, he was executive VP of Pacific Pac International Inc.

Trikon Technologies Inc., Newport, Wales, UK, has elected Robert R. Anderson to its board of directors. Anderson was a cofounder of KLA Instruments, and served in various executive capacities there until his retirement in 1994. He is a director of several companies, including Applied Science & Technology Inc. and Metron Technology NV.

Genus Inc., Sunnyvale, CA, has started a direct sales operation in Tokyo, Genus Japan, and has appointed Jack Oishi as its president. Prior to joining Genus, Oishi was the president and CEO of Tyecin-Innotech Corp.

Marshall Andrews, CEO of Interconnection Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Northbrook, IL, has resigned his position to pursue other interests. ITRI's CTO Jack Fisher will serve as interim CEO.

FSI International Inc., Minneapolis, MN, has appointed Arnie DeWitt VP of information systems and a corporate officer. DeWitt joined the company in 1996 as manager of information services.

Tokyo Electron America Inc. (TEA), Austin, TX, has named Harvey Frye senior VP of marketing and sales. Frye joined TEA in 1998 as VP of sales. Russ Finney has been appointed VP of information systems. Finney has served TEA since 1994.
