Let's demand healthy air!
Editor's note: In response to February's editorial, "Let's demand healthy air in airplanes and hospitals" (p. 12), a reader writes:
BRAVO! It's time for these changes!

Lost project?
The text of the article, "Three new Japanese research projects slated to begin this year" (AsiaFocus, Jan. 2001), doesn't mention one of the projects diagrammed in the chart on p. 54.

Translator's reply: The chart from Nikkei Microdevices does indeed include an additional research project not mentioned in the text of the story. Japan's Ministry of Education and Ministry of International Trade and Industry each planned to fund separate research projects on semiconductor production technology. The project that is not described in the story was supposed to develop a low-energy fab line. Details of all these projects are still being worked out.

Clarifications
In January's "Process technology update" on p. 84, the resist absorbance numbers at the bottom of the first column should not have been followed by a % sign.
In a report on the International Test Conference (Dec. 2000, p. 48), a discussion of our event-driven tester concept should have indicated that a MicroSPARC processor was a test vehicle for the event-driven approach, but it was not part of the tester. Also, my name was misspelled.
