Luxell Technologies Inc., Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, a developer of flat panel thin-film electroluminescent (TFEL) displays, has received a contract from US-based Oceaneering Space Systems to supply display modules that will be used in the trace gas analyzer system under order from NASA. The systems will include Luxell`s patented sunshine legible black layer TFEL display.

Tower Semiconductor Ltd., Migdal Haemek, Israel, will provide Motorola with foundry manufacturing services for mixed-signal devices. The first devices to be in production consist of integrated analog and digital coder/decoders. Services include development of mixed-signal processes compatible with those used by Motorola. Ramp to volume production is expected by year`s end.

Lumonics, Kanata, Ontario, Canada, a maker of laser-based advanced manufacturing systems for the semiconductor industry, has acquired Meteor Optics, Glendale, AZ, a maker of fiber optics for high-powered industrial lasers.

MOSAID Technologies Inc., Kanata, Ontario, Canada, a supplier of engineering memory test systems, has formed an alliance with Process Intelligence Ltd., a European maker of productivity software tools for semiconductor memory manufacturers. MOSAID will offer Process Intelligence software as an option on its memory test systems, and will provide the software company with access to new market opportunities.
