FSI International Inc., Minneapolis, MN, has named Thomas D. George to its board of directors. He recently retired from Motorola, where he served as president and GM of the Semiconductor Products Group until May 1997. Patricia Hollister has been named CFO and controller. She joined the company in 1995 as corporate controller. Daniel F. Flynn has been appointed CMP business manager for FSI`s Chemical Management Division in Hollister, CA. He was previously with Daniel F. Flynn Dow Chemical Co. in various marketing, business management, and sales positions.

The Futurestar Corp., Bloomington, MN, has appointed Bonnie E. Nelson controller. She has 15 years of experience in public accounting and as a controller for a variety of companies in diverse industries.

Fluoroware Inc., Chaska, MN, has appointed John Villas CFO. He was formerly VP of finance, and joined the company in 1994.

FTS Systems Inc., Stone Ridge, NY, has appointed Taylor N. Thompson, Jr. president. He has more than 15 years of experience in general operations management, strategic and financial planning, and sales, engineering, and project management.

The Institute for Interconnecting and Packaging Electronic Circuits (IPC), Northbrook, IL, has appointed Richard Kessler to its board of directors. He is executive VP and COO of LeaRonal Inc. Stephanie A. Kaplan has been named market research director. She was formerly manager of industry research at the Power Transmission Distributors Association.

Michael Moore has been appointed president, CEO, and CFO of TopoMetrix Corp., Santa Clara, CA. Prior to joining the company, he held executive positions at several instrument and medical equipment companies, including Perkin-Elmer, Hitachi Instruments Inc., and Fischer Imaging.

National Starch and Chemical Co., Bridgewater, NJ, has named Walter F. Schlauch COO. He joined the company in 1963, and was most recently executive VP of specialty chemicals and electronic materials.

Ronald Penland has been named president of Palomar Products Inc., Vista, CA, formerly Palomar Products Assembly and Test, and a new subsidiary of Palomar Technologies Corp.

US Filter Corp., Palm Desert, CA, has promoted six senior executives to positions as presidents and COOs of the company`s product groups. Nicholas C. Memmo has been named to the Domestic Process Water/Consumer Water Group. He was executive VP of the Process Water Group. Andrew D. Seidel has been appointed to the Domestic Wastewater Group, where he was executive VP. Harry K. Hornish, Jr. has been named to the WaterWorks Distribution Group. He joined the company in 1996. Thierry Reyners has been appointed to the European Water and Wastewater Group. He joined the company in 1993. Andrew Denver has been named to the Filtration/Separation Group. He was president/COO of Memtec Ltd., recently acquired by US Filter. David J. Shimmon has been appointed to the Industrial Products and Services Group. He was president and CEO of the Kinetics Group Inc., a recent acquisition of the company.

Tosoh SMD Inc., Grove City, OH, has named Lawrence Murphy VP of manufacturing. Since joining the company in 1989, he has held positions as VP of marketing, worldwide sales manager, North American sales manager, and media product manager. Sohail Qamar has been appointed advanced materials support manager. He joined the company in 1988 as a process engineer, and was most recently product manager for semiconductor products in Asia. Frederic Bouchard has been named Northeast sales engineer. He was previously business development manager for Advanced Technology Materials Inc. Bouchard replaces Frank Moore, who has retired.

BOC Edwards, Wilmington, MA, a division of The BOC Group Inc., has named Mark Rosenzweig president of BOC Edwards, the Americas. He has been with the company since 1992. George Courville has been promoted to VP of semiconductor marketing. He has been employed at the company since 1989.

Ibis Technology, Danvers, MA, has named Debra Nelson CFO. She replaces Timothy Burns, who has resigned. William Wray has been promoted to VP of engineering. He was formerly chief electronics engineer.

Allied Signal Electronic Materials, Los Gatos, CA, a business unit of AlliedSignal Inc., has named Steven Hochhauser president of AlliedSignal Laminate Systems. He was president and GM of Oak-Mitsui, AlliedSignal`s joint venture with Mitsui Mining and Smelting. The company has also expanded Donald Jobe`s role as VP of Electronic Materials Asia. Jobe has served the company in a variety of capacities since 1979. Duncan C. Dobson, Jr. has been appointed VP of new business development. He was most recently VP of corporate business development for MEMC Electronic Materials Inc. Linda Salokas has been named VP of human resources. She was director of organizational effectiveness at AlliedSignal Aerospace. Karen Hopkins has been appointed director of communications. She was formerly director of marketing communications at KLA-Tencor.

Applied Science and Technology (ASTeX), Woburn, MA, has named Bob Shaghafi VP of global customer service. Before joining the company, he was director of international service for the Asia Pacific Rim at KLA-Tencor.

EKC Technology Inc., Fremont, CA, has named Larry J. Kovar VP of worldwide operations. Prior to joining EKC, he served as market development manager at Borden Chemical. Robert Small has been promoted to technical director of research and development. He joined the company in 1995. Richard Sheriff Leonard has been promoted to quality control manager. Before joining EKC, he managed the quality assurance program for a group of 20 analytical chemistry labs at National Environmental Testing Inc.

Dexter Electronic Materials, Industry, CA, a core business of The Dexter Corp., has appointed L. Walter Guy VP and GM for Asia. He joins Dexter from Motorola Semiconductor, where he was most recently director of Asian manufacturing strategy.

Varian Associates, Gloucester, MA, has appointed Gary Mezack marketing manager. He was with Veeco Instruments.

YieldUP International Corp., Mountain View, CA, has appointed Abhay K. Bhushan executive VP and CFO. He is a cofounder and director of the company. Shirley Lien has been named controller and director of finance and administration. She was most recently finance manager for CVD manufacturing at Applied Materials. Ru Chang has been appointed VP of research and development. He has held research and technical management positions at IBM, Fairchild Semiconductor, Amdahl Corp., and Komag Corp. Michael Sageman has been named director of central region sales. He joins YieldUP from Nikon Precision, where he was sales manager.

Mattson Technology Inc., Fremont, CA, has promoted Ferdinand Seemann to VP and GM of its CVD business unit. He joined the company in 1996 as VP of sales and marketing.

MKS Instruments Inc., Andover, MA, has appointed Paul Blackborow to corporate VP of marketing. He has more than 17 years of experience in the

industry, most recently as director of sales at Trikon Technologies.

Novellus Inc., San Jose, CA, has appointed J. Michael Dodson VP. He will retain his position as corporate controller.

Millenium Automation, Fremont, CA, has appointed Aaron Mitchell director of project management. He was formerly a project manager for the Army Corps of Engineers, working in combat engineering construction and field engineering.

Eaton Semiconductor Equipment Operations, Beverly, MA, a unit of Eaton Corp., has named Mary Puma VP and GM of its Implant Systems Division. She joined Eaton`s Semiconductor and Specialty Systems Group in 1996 as GM of the Commercial Controls Division.

Applied Micro Circuits Corp., San Diego, CA, has named Kenneth L. Clark VP of operations. He was previously director of fab operations at Integrated Device Technology Inc.

Tokyo Electron America Inc., Austin, TX, has named Harvey Frye VP of sales. He previously worked in the semiconductor equipment divisions of Eaton and KLA-Tencor.

Asymtek, Carlsbad, CA, a subsidiary of the Nordson Corp., has named Jim Carbin product manager for the advanced integrated circuit encapsulation market. He has more than 10 years of experience in sales, marketing, and business management, most recently as a business manager at Thermoset Plastics Inc.

Cybeq Nano Technologies, San Jose, CA, has appointed William Dyson director of process development and applications engineering. He was director of applications engineering at Lam/OnTrak. The company has also announced that Paul Segal, COO, passed away after a long illness. Paul Vindigni, CFO, will act as the company`s interim COO.

Harper International Corp., Lancaster, NY, has appointed William Stry senior mechanical engineer. He was previously a test engineering supervisor at Valeo Engine Cooling Inc.

CVC, Rochester, NY, has appointed Dorian Heimanson chief scientist for PVD products. He was previously principal scientist at Stormedia and R&D manager at Sigmatron Nova.

Hastings Instruments, Hampton, VA, a business unit of Teledyne Brown Engineering, an Allegheny Teledyne Inc. company, has named Les Dahlstedt market development manager. He has more than 25 years of experience, most recently as VP of sales and marketing at Ultra Clean Technology.

Triant Technologies Inc., Vancouver, Canada, has named Robert Sutherland director of technical operations. Most recently, he was development manager at XceedX Technologies Inc. Mike Jones has been appointed product manager. He was previously with Brooks Automation Canada, where his responsibilities included product management and application engineering.

Knights Technology Inc., Sunnyvale, CA, has appointed six engineers to the staff of its new software development and quality assurance testing facility in Mumbai, India. Farhad Kharas has a degree in computer science and technology. Rajesh Ramakrishnan has experience in the IT industry as a programmer/analyst. Vishant Sanghavi was a programming analyst for a software consulting firm. Sana Shaikh was a programmer analyst, working in UNIX and Oracle-based database development. Dryer has been appointed applications engineer. He has worked for such companies as Motorola Inc. and Micron Technology Inc. Paul Sadlek has been promoted to wet bench product manager. He has been with SCP more than six years, supporting the software engineering group. Robert Glass has been named director of worldwide sales. He was formerly VP of sales for BOC/Systems Chemistry Inc.
