The Fluid Sealing Association, Wayne, PA, an international trade association, has elected F.A. Paino to its board of directors. He is president of Greene, Tweed & Co., Kulpsville, PA. Paino joined the company in 1966 as a field sales representative.
MEMC Electronic Materials Inc., St. Peters, MO, has appointed Klaus von Horde president, succeeding Robert Sandfort, who has retired. von Horde was formerly CEO and chairman of Carl Schenck AG.
Sierra Instruments Inc., Monterey, CA, has named Rob Stump president. He has more than 15 years of customer relations and operations management experience, and was previously a division manager for Pacific Gas & Electric.
Etec Systems Inc., Hayward, CA, has appointed William Ryan to its board of directors. He is executive VP of operations at Angstrom Technologies. William Siegle has also been named a director. He is AMD`s group VP for technology development and chief scientist.
Olin Corp., Norwalk, CT, has elected two members to its board of directors. Randall W. Larrimore is president and CEO of United Stationers. Richard M. Rompala is president and CEO of Valspar Corp. Also, Olin Microelectronic Materials, a division of Olin Corp., has appointed Bruce A. Lipisko VP and GM for chemicals and services. Before joining Olin, he was GM for the Electronics Group at General Chemical Corp.
CVC, Rochester, NY, has appointed Robert Fink to its board of directors. He has held executive positions at Lam Research, Drytek, ITT Corp., General Instrument Corp., and General Electric Corp.
The International Microelectronics and Packaging Society`s Metropolitan chapter, which serves Long Island and metropolitan New York, has appointed Walter J. Becker president. He is VP and division manager of Semi Dice Long Island.
Rippey Corp., El Dorado Hills, CA, has promoted Jill Todd to VP of finance and operations. She was most recently controller of the company, and will continue as human resources director. Daniel T. McMullen has been named VP of corporate development. He was most recently division global finance manager for the Microelectronics Materials Division of Cabot Corp.
TYECIN Systems, Los Altos, CA, has named Charles E. Fonner COO and executive VP. He was previously GM of the SmartCard Group at Amdahl Corp.
Wayne Schwartz has been appointed COO of Integrated Solutions Inc. (ISI), Austin, TX. In his 23 years in the semiconductor industry, he has held a variety of senior management positions, including VP/GM of the Integrated Circuit Design Group of Cadence Design Systems, a position he held before joining ISI. Larry Thompson, who supervises ISI`s SCALPEL and EUVL programs, will expand his role to include a focus on customer lithographic solutions and applications support. Also, John Johansen has been promoted to director of product marketing. He has more than 17 years of experience in high technology business development.
Anwar Chitayat, founder and CEO of Anorad Corp. has been nominated for the 1998 National Medal of Technology Award sponsored by the US Department of Commerce. The nomination was made by the Robotics and Manufacturing Department of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the product and process innovation category, in recognition of Chitayat`s contribution over the last 25 years to the advancement of manufacturing technology through his invention of the brushless linear servo motor.
Arnold Weiner, group VP of Pall Corp., East Hills, NY, has assumed global responsibility for R&D in addition to overseeing the technical and strategic alliances and acquisitions of the company. He began his tenure at Pall in 1964, and has held positions in manufacturing management, sales, marketing, international business development, and global business line management.

He has more than 15 years of management experience, most recently at Integrated Solutions Inc., as GM of the Ciric Division, and General Signal/CGA, as VP of international sales and marketing.
Fluoroware Inc., Chaska, MN, has promoted Tom Robb to VP and GM for Europe/ROW. Prior to his promotion, he served as manager/director of Fluoroware GmbH for seven years. He succeeds Frank Sidell, who has been named VP and GM of the company`s Critical Fluid Management business. Also, Kate Smith has been promoted to fluid transfer strategic business manager. A 20-year industry veteran, she joined Fluoroware in 1987, and has held various management positions in the Critical Fluid Management business.

Roger Ingalls, Jr. has been US product manager, US sales and product manager, and, just prior to his promotion, director of North American sales. William A. Ashland Chemical Co., Dublin, OH, a division of Ashland Inc., has appointed Alan Kwok applications engineer in Taiwan for the Ashland-ACT unit of its Electronic Chemicals Division. He joined the company in 1996 as a temporary analyst assistant. Jerry Lacy has been named operations manager for the division`s plant in Dallas, TX. He comes to Ashland from the Michelin Tire Corp., where he held various positions, including warehouse operations manager, quality supervisor, and production training manager.
Advanced Energy Industries Inc., Fort Collins, CO, has named Greg Roche applications development manager. Before joining the company, he spent four years at Lam Research, most recently working on process development for plasma-enhanced, chemical vapor deposition.

He has more than 24 years of engineering experience in developing and sustaining engineering initiatives, and was most recently VP of engineering at AmPro. David Tucker has been named director of finance and administration. He has had nine years of experience in US and international finance and accounting, including a four-year tenure as corporate controller for IC Works Inc.
BKC Semiconductors Inc., Lawrence, MA, has appointed Eugene G. Kelly manager of field applications engineering. He previously held positions in management and engineering at Philips Semiconductors and Alpha Industries.

Loskot microelectronics liquids product manager for its Assembly and Advanced Products (AAP) business unit. He was product manager for imaging products at the division`s Printed Wiring Board Products business unit. Maury Edwards was appointed director of R&D for the AAP business unit. Since joining Dexter Electronic Materials in 1974, he has held a variety of technical and R&D management positions.

He was previously at the technical training division of Harris RF Communications. Also, Rich Myer has been named account manager for ENI`s regional office in Burlington, MA.
