Philips Analytical, Almelo, The Netherlands, has ap pointed Alec Reader VP and semiconductor marketing director. He has 17 years of experience in IC processing and marketing. John B. Hanselman has been named director semiconductor-USA, based at Philips Analytical in Natick, MA. He was formerly CEO of Active Impulse Systems Inc., a company he founded.
Paul Peercy, president of the Semi-Sematech consortium for the last four years, will transition out of the post beginning in September. He will become dean of the Engineering College at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The Microelectronics Materials Division (MMD) of Cabot Corp., Aurora, IL, has named Chris Yu director of R&D. He was previously Cabot MMD's director of interconnect technology. Jeffrey Michael Jenkins has been appointed director of global human resources. Prior to joining Cabot, Jenkins spent 15 years at Hewlett-Packard, most recently as a human resources and quality manager.
Domain Logic Corp. (DLC), Austin, TX, has named Charles Baylis VP of product engineering and development. Baylis comes to DLC from stints at Baylis Automation, Lights Out Software, and most recently, Brooks Automation/FASTech.
Jim Usher has stepped down as president/COO of Busch Semiconductor Vacuum to launch a new operation aimed at helping equipment firms develop strategic direction. Derek Shields, global operations president at Busch, will assume Usher's duties at the company.

BOC Edwards, Wilmington, MA, has appointed Chris Case CTO, based at its Murray Hill, NJ, location. For the past 11 years, Case has served in various senior R&D management positions at Lucent Technologies. He is chairman of the working groups for the National Technology Roadmap. In addition, Ron Gregg has been named VP of on-site systems; Piotr Sadkowski has been appointed director of bulk gas systems and environmental services; and Paul Espitalier-Noel has been named global product manager.
Wright Williams & Kelly has promoted Daren L. Dance to VP of technology. Dance has been manager of applications R&D for the company since 1995.

Crookes has held management positions at National Semiconductor, Fairchild Semiconductor, and most recently, Cypress Semiconductor in the Philippines. He replaces Willem de Vries, CEO of Alphatec Holding Co., who has been acting as GM.
Alfa Aesar, Ward Hill, MA, a Johnson Matthey company, has promoted Barry Singelais to GM of its North American business. Singelais has been with the company 9 years, and was most recently purchasing and distribution manager of Alfa Aesar's research and specialty chemicals global operations.
