Cognex Corp., Natick, MA, has appointed Glenn R. Wienkoop COO of its Modular Systems Division. Prior to joining Cognex, Wien koop spent more than 20 years at Measurex Corp.

Tekcom Limited Co., San Jose, CA, has named Michael P. Hartung president. Before joining Tekcom in 1997, Hartung was director of sales at Advantek Taping Systems Inc.

SAL Inc., South Burlington, VT, has elected Charles Dickinson chairman of its board of directors. He has more than 30 years of experience at such companies as Control Data Corp., Memorex, and RCA. Robert Selzer has been promoted to senior VP of technology. He has been with SAL since its formation in 1994.

Gilbert Amelio has joined the board of Yield Dynamics Inc., Santa Clara, CA. He is a partner in The Parkside Group LLC. Richard Kittler has been named VP of product development. Prior to joining Yield, he was with AMD. Robert Heath has been appointed VP of sales. He has more than 20 years of experience in semiconductor yield management.

Nyquist Industrial Control, Eindhoven, The Nether lands, has named Jon Shuttleworth president and CEO of its subsidiaries Mitra Power Systems and Mechanical & Automation Systems. He is president and CEO at Nyquist.

CVC, Rochester, NY, has named Richard Kellogg VP of manufacturing. He was VP of materials at Lam Re search.

Richard Chicotka has been appointed VP of en gineering. Chicotka joined CVC in 1995 as VP of operations.

Electro Scientific Industries Inc. (ESI), Portland, OR, has named Josef K. Baumann corporate VP and president of the company's Electronic Component Systems business. Baumann was founder and president of Testec Corp., which was acquired by ESI earlier this year.

The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), San Jose, CA, has appointed Juri Matisoo VP of technology programs. He was VP of research at National Semiconductor.

ENI, Rochester, NY, a division of Astec America Inc., has appointed David Gates VP of manufacturing and quality. Gates joined ENI in 1992, serving most re cently
as director of manufacturing, China .

DuPont Photomasks Inc., Round Rock, TX, has named Nancy Young VP of human resources. She has more than 20 years of experience in the field, including five
years in various positions at Hewlett-Packard.

Alec Babiarz, has been promoted to VP of business development for the Nordson Corp.'s Electronics Systems Group. Babiarz, a cofounder of Asymtek, Carlsbad, CA, a subsidiary of Nordson Corp., will retain his position as senior VP of Asymtek.

Align-Rite Corp., Burbank, CA, has appointed Douglas Van Den Broeke VP of technology. He joins the firm from Photronics, where he was most recently director of research and development, and chief technical liaison for customers.

Electroglas Inc., Santa Clara, CA, has named Nobuya Fujimoto VP of Asian operations. Fujimoto will combine this position with his current role as president of Electroglas KK, the company's Japanese subsidiary. Dan Fields has been promoted to VP of Asia Pacific operations.

The Semiconductor and Electronics Division of EDS, Santa Clara, CA, has appointed Christopher Kraft VP of manufacturing sciences consulting. Kraft is a 15-year industry veteran and former manager of Texas Instruments Inc.'s worldwide semiconductor manufacturing operational methods department.
