ASM Lithography, Veldhoven, The Netherlands, has won an order valued at more than $150 million for its advanced lithography tools from Micron Technology, Boise, ID. ASML`s deep UV and i-line steppers, which will be used to make advanced 16- and 64-Mbit DRAMs, are set for installation at Micron`s Boise fabs beginning in the 4Q. The Micron order includes ASML`s PAS 5500/300B, a deep UV system which incorporates 0.25-?m resolution with the capability of processing more than 80, 200-mm wafers/hr, and the PAS 5500/200B i-line system, which can process better than 90, 200-mm wafers/hr at 0.35-?m resolution.

The expansion plans of Datacon GmbH, Radfeld, Germany, a maker of multichip diebonders and automatic assembly machines, are on target. From 1995 to 1996, the company grew 30%. For this year, the company expects to reach its target revenue of DM30 million, and has seen employment grow to 65. Datacon is also taking further steps to establish a worldwide sales organization and optimal applications and service support.
