Ashland completes upgrade at Milan production facility

The Electronic Chemicals Division of Ashland Chemical Co., a division of Ashland Inc. and a supplier of specialty chemicals, has completed a series of capital improvements at its Milan, Italy, ISO 9002-certified production facility. These include installation of a high-volume, ultrapure water plant and bulk storage for incoming material and finished product. An acid-blending facility has also been added for high-purity hydrofluoric acid and other mixes; this system contains ten tanks fitted with load cells to automate production and enhance safety. Improvements at the plant have boosted production volume of the company`s line of 1 ppb Gbit high-purity electronic chemicals by 50% or more. Ashland plans further production upgrades, including an isocontainer-fed tank farm due to be installed early next year.
