As you celebrate your 40th birthday, I want to take this opportunity to congratulate you and tell you what wonderful work you are doing, providing us with a large and consistent amount of information. I am impressed by SST`s staff and the efforts you are making to maintain your lead in the complex and growing semiconductor sector.
America can be proud of you. You are their best ambassadors. Your role is tremendous for the well-being of the American semiconductor industry. Thank you for continually sending us your magazine, for opening this window for us, and for just being there.

Clarifications
The color registration was misaligned in Figs. 4 and 5 of "Avoid false alarms with proper gas detection equipment," (August, p. 86). Here are the corrected figures.
Also, in the July Literature Showcase (p. S6), the FEI Co. news brief should have read: "FEI Co. and Philips Electron Optics integrated their global operations with the resulting company using the name FEI Co. Operations involving the manufacture, R & D, service, sales, and marketing of FEI`s component products now constitute a separate division, the FEI Components Group."
