Genus Inc., Sunnyvale, CA, has named John E. Aldeborgh COO. He joined Genus in 1989 as director of operations, and was promoted to executive VP and GM of the company`s Ion Technology Products division, Newburyport, MA, in 1993. Before that, he was director of manufacturing at LTX Corp., a semiconductor test equipment company.

Schneeberger Inc., Bedford, MA, a subsidiary of Schneeberger Linear Technology, has appointed Andy Fisher president of the parent company based in Roggwil, Switzerland. He was managing director of the Bedford, MA, facility. George A. Jaffe has been promoted to executive VP and managing director of Schneeberger Inc. He was formerly VP of operations. Sylvia Most has been named operations manager. She was previously with National Semiconductor.

Carl P. Herrmann has been elected to the board of directors of MRS Technology Inc., Chelmsford, MA. Herrmann has more than 15 years of international management experience in electronics and high technology systems companies. Prior to establishing his own consulting business, he was president and CEO of Solbourne Computer Inc. Before joining Solbourne in 1991 as VP of international operations, he was Amphenol Corp.`s Hong Kong-based director of Far East operations.

AG Associates, San Jose, CA, has named Kirk Johnson VP of finance and CFO. Before joining the company, he served as corporate controller for Cypress Semiconductor. He joined Cypress in 1988 as manager of corporate planning and analysis, and held various controller positions during his tenure there.

Ron Gilman has founded Chipscale Robotics, Fremont, CA, a company that will provide sorting/handling equipment for chip-scale packaged ICs and known good die. Gilman is a 20-year veteran of the semiconductor equipment industry. In 1994, he founded Probus Technology, Santa Clara,

CA, to commercialize the research technology of a noncontact system for the internal probing of semiconductors. He also spent five years with Karl Suss GmbH, as the worldwide director of its Semiconductor Prober Division. Earlier, he served in management positions with Wentworth Laboratories and Electroglas Inc.

Comdisco Electronics Group, San Diego, CA, has appointed Dana Wentworth director of electronics manufacturing technology. He has more than 15 years of experience in engineering management and board assembly operations, most recently as engineering manager of electronic assembly operation at Microelectronic Modules Corp. Prior to this, Wentworth was with Sundstrand Aerospace and General Dynamics in process engineering and new business development. George Deltoro has been named director of semiconductor technology. He has more than 16 years of experience in the semiconductor, process engineering, and fab operation industry, having held upper-level management positions at Motorola, Western Digital, and Standard Microsystems.

Materials Research Corp., Gilbert, AZ, has appointed Peter R. Szasz VP of business development. He has extensive experience in international marketing and business development in the semiconductor equipment manufacturing business, most recently as director of global account management for Lam Research Inc. Szasz has also held VP positions in marketing, sales, general management, and engineering at various semiconductor equipment suppliers.

Philips Semiconductors, Eindhoven, The Netherlands, has appointed Theo Claasen director and chief technology officer effective last month. He joined Philips in 1971, and has held various positions, including department head for radio and data transmission systems and director for IC design. Claasen was most recently director of Philips Research Laboratories Eindhoven, where he was responsible for electronic systems. He succeeds Roel Kramer, who has been named managing director and chief technology officer at Philips Sound & Vision.

Olin Microelectronic Materials, Norwalk, CT, a division of Olin Corp., has appointed Heidi M. Schonauer product manager for process chemicals,

based at Olin`s Chandler, AZ, facility. Schonauer has been with the company for 11 years, most recently serving as marketing manager for surfactants.

AutoSimulations Inc., Salt Lake City, UT, has appointed Edward Boyle director of semiconductor sales. He has more than 24 years of sales experience in the semiconductor industry, and has worked as an independent representative for AutoSimulations since 1992.

Tegal Corp., Petaluma, CA, has named Diane Fennell VP of marketing and customer application support. She has more than 20 years of experience in the semi-conductor manufacturing and capital equipment industries, most recently as president and founder of FAI, a sales and distribution firm for ion beam and chemically assisted etching capital equipment.

Heraeus Amersil Inc., Duluth, GA, has named Howard Young sales and marketing manager for the company`s fabricated quartzware. He will retain Howard Young his position as manager of Heraeus Amersil`s Glassworker`s School. Before joining the company in 1994, he was VP at California Quartz. Roger Larson has been appointed area manager, central region. Based in Austin, Larson has more than 24 years of experience in the quartz fabrication industry.

Spectra International, Morgan Hill, CA, has appointed Roger Schneider VP of sales. He was previously Eastern regional sales manager for Tylan General Inc.

Equipe Technologies Inc., Sunnyvale, CA, has named Gregory Cook director of sales and marketing. He was most recently regional sales manager at Integrated Device Technology. Also, Stephen Kohnle has been appointed Eastern regional sales manager. He was regional sales manager at Brooks Automation.

Veeco Instruments Inc., Plainview, NY, has promoted Tim Cahaney to international marketing manager for its line of ion beam processing systems. He has nearly 20 years of sales, marketing, and engineering experience in the data storage and semiconductor industries. Prior to joining the company, Cahaney was a major account manager for Hewlett-Packard`s Semiconductor Test Systems Group.

Millennium Automation, Fremont, CA, has named Timothy McFadden VP of sales and marketing. He has over 20 years of experience in high technology sales and marketing, most recently as sales manager for Accufab Systems of Livermore, CA.

Sierra Technology Group Inc. (STG), Livermore, CA, has appointed Angela Ling district sales manager based in its Livermore, CA, office. She is a recent graduate of Penn State University, where she received a PhD degree in biochemistry. STG represents a number of high technology companies engaged in vacuum deposition.

Ashland Chemical Co., Dublin, OH, has named R. Jefferson Pratt technical sales representative for its Electronic Chemicals Division, where he will provide technical sales support to customers in Colorado and Arizona. He has 16 years of sales experience in water treatment chemicals, previously serving as a senior sales representative for Ashland Chemical`s Drew Industrial Division, a position he held since joining the company in 1995.

Alphasem AG, Berg, Switzerland, has named two sales account managers. Felixberto Dolot will be responsible for the Philippines territory. He has over nine years of experience in production, process, maintenance, sales, and marketing in the consumer electronics and semiconductor equipment industries. Terence Teo will be responsible for selected customers in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India. He has more than 13 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, and will be based at the Singapore office.

Cybeq Systems, Sunnyvale, CA, a unit of Mitsubishi Materials Corp., has appointed several new executives. Hank Beliveau is VP of marketing and sales; Ali Darvish is VP of engineering; Joyce Lopez is VP of finance and administration; and Sam Milgrom is VP of manufacturing.
