Projection correction
I enjoyed reading both the interview with Gordon Moore ("Moore`s Law extended: The return of cleverness," p. 364) and your editorial ("Billions and billions of transistors," p. 18) in your July issue.
However, Figure 2 on p. 361, illustrating the projection of Moore`s Law, identifies the Pentium and the Pentium Pro as nominally 100 kHz processors. No way! I would suggest that the label for the vertical axis of figure b) should read "Chip frequency (MHz)" rather than kHz.
Thanks for the Moore interview and vision of the 10 GHz, 1B transistor IC, just 15 years into the future.
