MOSAID Technologies Inc., Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, will design the next generation of SDRAM on behalf of the SLDRAM Consortium. To develop the industry prototype, MOSAID is using an advanced 0.25-?m DRAM process developed jointly by Siemens, IBM, and Toshiba. Other consortium members will soon contribute engineering expertise to the project.

Semiconductor Engineering Laboratories Ltd., Israel, has received multiple orders for the MC200 micro cleaving system from several US semiconductor manufacturers. Using pattern recognition to automate alignment processes and tool positioning, the MC200 has a single sample preparation time of less than 10 minutes. The systems are used to reduce diagnosis cycles for failure analysis and process monitoring.
