MRSI, A Newport Corp. Co., (North Billerica, Mass.) appointed Vincent Chin to applications engineer for the Asia Pacific region.

Hana Microelectronics Group (Bangkok, Thailand), a solutions provider in high-technology assembly and test services, appointed Bruce Stromstad president of the San Jose, Calif.-based Hana Microelectronics Inc.

Tan Lay Koon of ST Assembly Test Services Ltd. (Singapore and Milpitas, Calif.) was appointed president and CEO and Pearlyne Wang was named chief financial controller. Koon succeeds Harry Davoddy who resigned to pursue other interests.

Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI) (San Jose, Calif.) appointed Victoria Hadfield president of SEMI North America. Hadfield will oversee all North American operations of the global industry association.

Matec Instrument Cos. Inc. (Northborough, Mass.) formed a new Matec Micro-Electronics Div. to be located in Yardley, Pa. Manny Butera, product line manager, and Jim Stradling, director of sales, will manage the Pa.-based office.

The Loctite Corp. (Rocky Hill, Conn.) changed its legal name to Henkel Loctite Corp. Loctite companies worldwide also will follow the name change.

Semiconductor Technologies and Instruments (Plano, Texas) shipped serial number 50 of their WAV product line, which offers active die inspection and probe mark analysis with measurements of percent bond pad probed and submicron edge detection.

Gel-Pak (Hayward, Calif.), a manufacturer of materials and carrier systems used in semiconductor shipping, handling and storage, opened a new facility for its Quik-Pak division in Burlington, Vt.
