Using a thermally chilled, solid-state diode laser to count 0.1-micron particles, the Lasair II offers what the manufacturer claims are accuracy, reduced operating costs, reliability and longevity. The product stores 3000 samples. Users can control the particle counter from a desktop web browser as it samples in the cleanroom, then download the data into Excel. Users can also download the data directly into FacilityNet for advanced analyses and reports.

Valve/connection combo
The Steam-Thru Connection (STC) serves the dual function of valve and connection, eliminating the steps of traditional steam sterilization processes. It also speeds the connection process and reduces contamination risks associated with multi-connection steam-in-place applications. For example, biopharmaceutical companies can sterilize the flow path and initiate connections between a bioreactor and media bag without adding plumbing connections or additional steps to the process. The product uses a steam trap to rid the connection of steam during the sterilization process.

Abatement material

Ultima-Sorbä employs dry abatement technology to abate MOCVD process gases, especially arsine and phosphine. According to the manufacturer, the product combines two special materials to optimize scrubbing capacity and efficiency, while reducing system heat generation. Together, these materials are designed to chemically remove hydride gases at room temperature, as well as deliver three to five times larger capacity than conventional dry abatement media. Reportedly, the use of the material results in a 20 to 50 percent reduction in abatement cost of ownership without any scrubber modifications.
