Berkshire has recently introduced two new wiper products. MicroSeal™ SuperSorb is a highly absorbent, two-ply, 100 percent polyester wiper with ultrasonic heat-sealed edge, designed to address specific absorbency concerns and durability for the critical environments. This polyester-knit wipe is an excellent choice in critical component wiping applications where high concentrations of liquid are in use. ValuSeal™ HA is a highly absorbent, 100 percent polyester wiper with ultrasonic heat-sealed edge, designed to address specific absorbency concerns, purity levels, and strength and durability for the semiconductor and biomedical markets. Proprietary knitting and laundry techniques, combined with a bonding application, have created products that possess super absorbency capacity along with cleanliness and durability.

Mop heads, handles and buckets

Contec’s new and improved fully autoclavable mop heads, telescoping handles and expandable bucket systems allow for more flexibility than ever before. Head frames are available for all sizes of VertiKlean® mops and styles of Edgeless® mops. The stainless-steel bucket system easily adapts to customers’ growing needs with no need for extra hardware and is ideal for use in life sciences, microelectronics, semiconductor or any critical manufacturing environment. It can be used with two or three buckets depending upon in-house protocols. An extendable frame pulls out of the front of the trolley to accommodate an additional bucket. Fully autoclavable, interchangeable mop-head frames feature a capped end and a quick-connect feature that allows for easy attachment to compatible handles. Mop handles, also fully autoclavable, are available in lightweight anodized aluminum or durable electropolished stainless steel, and they’re compatible with all sizes of Contec’s interchangeable mop-head frames.

Polyester/cellulose wipes

SELECT-SAT™ wipes from High-Tech Conversions are prepackaged and ready to be saturated with a solvent of your choice, allowing you to add as much or as little as needed. The wipes consist of a 50:50 blend of tough polyester and virgin absorbent cellulose. They feature four clean-cut edges, a convenient container that can be easily opened and closed with only one hand, and they do not come in contact with any adhesive, which can contaminate the wipe before use. The wipes are kept protected 100 percent of the time in convenient containers, preventing exposure of the wipes to constant wicking, drying and contamination.

KIMTECH PURE™ Wipers from Kimberly-Clark Professional have been specifically designed for ISO Class 4 and higher cleanrooms. They’re ideal for use in pharmaceutical, high-tech, biotechnology and medical device industries. KIMTECH PURE CL4 Critical Task Wipers, also suited for ISO Class 4 or higher cleanrooms, are delivered double-wrapped in antistat packaging and meet USDA requirements for food processing establishments. They are made of 100 percent polypropylene and can be autoclaved and ETO sterilized. KIMTECH PURE CL4 PreSat Alcohol Wipes, also suitable for ISO Class 4 or higher cleanrooms, offer one-step application of alcohol to critical surfaces via a 100 percent polypropylene base sheet, saturated with 70 percent isopropyl alcohol and 30 percent deionized water. KIMTECH PURE CL5 Critical Task Wipers are suited for ISO Class 5 or higher cleanrooms. Offered in an antistat double bag, these wipes can be autoclaved and ETO sterilized.

Disposable mop heads

Value-Tek has introduced a single-use, disposable, cleanroom mop head for sterile and nonsterile applications as an alternative to more costly polyester products. This mop is made from virgin laundered polyester and is intended for critical applications where a single-use product is preferred. It’s manufactured and packaged in a cleanroom environment and suitable for use in Class 100 (ISO Class 5/M3.5) and above. Value-Tek has also recently introduced a mop head that is ideal for cleaning floors, walls, and ceilings in sterile or nonsterile applications. This flat mop head slides easily over floor tiles or any other surface. It is made from virgin laundered microfiber polyester, which is tubular and looped. This design offers significantly more surface area than other types available today, removing more contamination in one pass. It is launderable for reuse and suitable for use in Class 10 (ISO Class 4/M2.5) and above.

The new One Solution Vesphene IIst™ System and One Solution LpH st™ System from STERIS are complete, efficient, point-of-use cleaning solutions for critical environments.
