ARTEL, a technology leader in liquid-delivery quality assurance, has announced a new laboratory innovation to improve the performance of automated liquid handlers. The MVSTM ADVANCED is the first system capable of verifying multichannel instrumentation using non-aqueous test solutions, such as DMSO. The system enhances data integrity and allows laboratories to optimize automated liquid-handling equipment with up to 384 channels. User-intuitive and portable, the system can be used bench-top to quickly provide accurate and precise volumetric measurements, strengthening confidence in laboratory data and eliminating the need to remove dedicated liquid handlers from cleanroom environments for calibration. Fully customizable, the MVS ADVANCED can optimize automated liquid-handling instrumentation with test solutions with the same viscosity as solutions used in actual assays. The system can be used with standard microtiter plates and is easily integrated with existing automated liquid handlers. Frequent checks are possible because verification is completed in less than ten minutes. Also, the MVS ADVANCED provides traceable data, facilitating regulatory compliance.

BOC Edwards has introduced the SpectraSure LCTM line of specialty gas delivery systems designed with high performance, safety, reliability and economy in mind. This system features the unique iGLCCTM intelligent controller utilizing a self-contained, micro-PLC-based controller capable of operating in conjunction with other gas cabinets and valve manifold boxes (VMBs). The iGLCC is able to communicate with facility control and/or monitoring systems through RS 422 or Ethernet communications, providing a flexible and reliable data source for operational monitoring programs. SpectraSure LC gas cabinets feature an 11-gauge steel enclosure and utilize an advanced-engineered 5-valve gas supply manifold system that provides an economical, simplified design that minimizes internal volume and provides faster dry-down and longer system operating life. Operator interface is achieved through use of an economical, intuitive, 6-inch color touch-screen panel. Two-cylinder and three-cylinder cabinet versions are available. All SpectraSure gas delivery systems are manufactured in an ISO 9001-certified facility and are designed to meet stringent industry standards.
