Hardwall modular cleanrooms
Clean Air Products has introduced its Series 582 Vertical Flow Hardwall Modular Cleanrooms. These prefabricated, easy-to-assemble cleanrooms are available in a variety of sizes, shapes, materials of construction, and classifications to suit nearly any cleanroom application. Series 582 cleanrooms comply with Class 100,000 to Class 10 (ISO Class 8 to Class 4) operating conditions. These modular units are available in unlimited lengths, widths to 34 feet, and heights up to 15 feet. Options include motorized ceiling HEPA filters and ducted filter modules, and air-conditioning for cooling and humidity control. Series 582 components are easy to lift and assemble using internally mounted rotary clamps and fasteners. Parts are interchangeable and easy to maneuver.

Polypropylene couplings
Colder Products Company now offers the popular PMC12 with an integrated ¼-28 flat-bottom port. The port is compatible with standard HPLC-type fittings, eliminating the need to thread and re-thread a separate fitting whenever the line is disconnected. An incorporated valve ensures that the coupling remains clean and leak-free, while a unique thumb-latch feature provides an audible “click” that indicates when a secure connection has been made. This product satisfies increasing market demand for rigid, micro-diameter tubing and applications with low-pressure, dead-volume, and high-purity requirements. It is ideal for a wide variety of analytical instrument equipment and applications, including mass spectrometry, flow cytometry, gas chromatography, reagent lines, and waste lines. It is currently available with in-line body, panel-mount body, and panel-mount insert terminations. Standard compression nuts and fittings allow the use of a variety of tubing sizes and materials. Polypropylene couplings have an operating pressure range from vacuum to 120 psi at 8.3 bar and temperatures from 32°F to 160°F (0°C to 71°C).

Dust-removal equipment
AutoPak Engineering Corp. has announced its newly developed vito, a tablet/capsule dust-removal equipment that uses electrically charged ions to help detach dust particles from tablets/capsules after the forming process. The vito cleaning chamber is based on a helicoidally shaped brush using conductive hairs and core, all made from FDA direct-contact-approved materials. Vito uses vertical movement and a gentle brush-scuffing action to liberate the attached dust particles from the product. Then, the induced electrically charged ion airflow neutralizes the dust particles, preventing them from sticking to other products or to the brush itself. The externally attached vacuum system removes the dust particles from the vito cleaning chamber. Vito is specifically designed to help pharmaceutical packagers meet strict FDA cleaning requirements.

Vacuum pump inlet trap
MV Products has introduced a new-generation vacuum pump inlet trap for larger process tool forelines used by 300 mm wafer fabricators and processes such as LPCVD, PECVD, and ALD. The MV Multi-Trap® 16-inch vacuum inlet trap is designed for protecting vacuum pumps in processes that generate a large quantity of heavy particulates, and features a first-stage knock-down baffle and multiple stages of filtration. Suitable for 300 mm semiconductor wafer fabricators, this high-capacity trap can be stacked with up to six stages of user-specified replaceable filter elements to achieve optimum filtration efficiency for a given application. Incorporating a modular, clamp-together design for ease of maintenance, the inlet trap is constructed from 304 grade stainless steel. Filter options include stainless-steel gauze, microrated polypropylene, activated alumina or charcoal, Sodasorb®, and other types to remove residual solvent vapor acids and particulates. Filters offered are 4.5 inches and 9 inches tall.
