05/16/2005 Oxonica was spun out from the University of Oxford in mid-1999. The company was initially funded by a small number of high net-worth individuals or business angels. In the early years, the company struggled to identify a clear commercial technology. 05/16/2005 JMAR Technologies Inc., which develops laser-based equipment for imaging, analysis and fabrication at the nanoscale, announced today that a North American cruise ship operator plans to install JMAR's waterborne microorganism early warning system and conduct a two-month beta test in mid-June.
